Education Focus Group
Lead by Mike Gough, chair of the Parish Council and chair of governors at Lambs Lane School.
This group deals with all aspects of education from nursery care, through pre-school, primary school, secondary school right through to adult education and specialist help for the older people who struggle with modern technology.
Membership of the group includes representatives from local schools and other education orientated groups in the parish, parents, the Borough Council and developers.
Key questions cover the shortage of primary school places in the immediate future, the extensions to existing primary schools, the construction and location of two new proposed primary schools, the free secondary school and the borough’s intentions over secondary schools outside the Parish. Also under discussion is the provision of affordable child care for working parents and facilities for adult education.
