At shinfieldplan.org we are devoted to producing a Neighbourhood Development Plan for the Shinfield Parish which when approved becomes an intrinsic part of local planning regulations. A Neighbourhood Plan is a community-led framework for guiding the future development & growth of an area.
Importantly this plan is not only about the new homes to be developed in the Strategic Development Location, but is about the whole Parish including Shinfield north of the M4, Grazeley and Ryeish Green. All locations within the Parish will be affected by the extra homes & the Neighbourhood Plan is an opportunity for local people to participate & influence many aspects of the developments.
Sponsored by Shinfield Parish Council on this site you can find out about the development of some 2750 new homes in Shinfield, Spencers Wood and Three Mile Cross over the next thirteen years or so.
Take part in the conversation about things we need throughout the Parish both now and as the area grows from 4500 homes to 7250 homes and population grows from 11000 to some 18000 people putting pressure on roads, schools, community facilities, sports and recreation, medical and a whole range of other issues.
The Neighbourhood Development Plan aims to tackle all the issues, come up with positive plans to combat the increase in the local population and embrace the ideas of developers and the Wokingham Borough Council who have all too often disregarded the views of the existing residents.
