Arborfield Road Closure – August 2015

Between 3 and 23 August 2015 the Arborfield Road will be closed between School Green and Arborfield Cross, to allow for construction work for the Eastern Relief Road. As such, the Reading Buses service 3 will cease to run during this closure, and a temporary 3A route will operate during the three week period. Draft Neighbourhood Plan to be published next week

Printed copies of the Draft Neighbourhood Development Plan for Shinfield Parish arrived in the office this week, and will be landing on doormats across the parish from Friday 12 June. An electronic version of the plan, plus all the appendices will be available on the website from 15 June. Consultation on the draft plan begins on Monday 15 June and runs until Friday 31st July. A public consultation event will be held at Shinfield Parish Hall on Friday 3 July from 2pm till 8pm. Further details of the event are included on a flyer in the plan packs.     Share...

Work starts on the Eastern Relief Road

Work starts on the Eastern Relief Road

At the beginning of January, work began on the Eastern Relief Road, running from Parrot Farm on Arborfield Road, via a new motorway bridge, to the Black Boy roundabout. The following progress report was received from Hochtief:   During the last few months the project team has been working hard to finalise detailed designs and establish the site office ahead of schedule. This enabled some early vegetation clearance work to be carried out and reduce the risk of disturbing hibernating animals. With full access to the entire site, ground clearance work is continuing to programme and the demolition of the majority of the required buildings at Lane End Farm is due to commence at the end of January. Permanent fencing will also start to be erected around the site and construction of the new M4 bridge begins in earnest during early March, along with the main earthworks, weather permitting.
